Tumour on liver (Hepatoma)

Symptoms

Dropsy
Fluid retention in body cavity, cause scales to protrude 
Abdomen swollen
Lower body of fish is bloated and swollen to a considerable degree.
Emaciation
Fish is fading away, looks as if it is starving to death.
Listless and lethargic
Fish moves very lazily in water, much less than normal, lacks interest.
Ulcers - irregular
Irregular shaped ulcers are evident on the skin.

Causes

Tumourous growth on liver. If it manifests itself on many fish Suspect food inputs . Especially watch for pesticide contamination, or Aflatoxins.

Prognosis

Almost invariably fatal. Veterinary operation if fish is especially valuable.
